AI solution for automated medical documentation is the winner of Science Park’s innovation competition

26 February 2025

At the end of September, Science Park’s major innovation competition kicked off. This year’s theme was health and well-being. The winner of the “Best Innovation” category has now been announced and the winner, who also will join Science Park’s incubator, is Recnote – an AI solution that optimizes documentation and enhances patient safety.

– This year’s entries truly showcase the strength of entrepreneurship in health and well-being. It’s inspiring to see innovative solutions take shape to address both local and global challenges, says Hanna Aspklint, CEO of Science Park.

Innovation with a strong focus on patient safety

The team behind RecNote – Fadi Chamoun, Viktor Borg, Shahin Pourjanaki, and Lirim Bilibani – has developed an AI-driven solution that automates the transcription of doctor-patient conversations and medical documentation. By reducing the administrative burden on doctors and healthcare staff, the tool frees up more time and attention for what truly matters: the patient. This allows doctors to be more present in the conversation, fostering a deeper and more meaningful dialogue with their patients.

The primary goal is to ease the administrative workload for doctors and healthcare staff. By providing clear guidelines and a solution designed to meet the needs of the healthcare sector, important information is handled correctly while ensuring that medical professionals receive the suppport they need to meet both today’s and future challenges.

– This is the perfect Christmas gift, Shahin Pourjanaki says about the victory.

Secures a spot in the Incubator Program

The team wins a year of free participation in the Incubator Program, up to 100,000 SEK in development funding, and a free workspace at Science Park. Shahin shares his expectations for their time in the incubator:

– There are many complex laws and security requirements to navigate in this type of service. For us, having the right support, building a strong network with expertise is essential. That’s why we’re looking forward to the Incubator’s support in becoming the most trusted and patient-safe player on the market.

 – Recnote addresses one of the major societal challenges – the growing strain on the healthcare system. It’s truly inspiring to support such a strong and close-knit team with key expertise needed to overcome technical challenges. They understand that progress isn’t always a straight path, and that openness is a real strength when developing such a vital service, says Emilia Sundberg, who will be Recnote’s business developer throughout the incubation period.
