Incubator Competition – Submit Your Entry

Have you started working on a solution to your problem and decided to venture into a business? This competition is designed for those aiming to develop a product or service with significant commercial and international potential. Your solution should be innovative, and it’s required that it contributes in some way to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. It doesn’t need to be an entirely new solution; it can be an enhanced version of something already available in the market.

You don’t need to decide which competition category to enter. All you need to do is describe your idea as clearly as possible. Further down the page, you can read about the competition criteria and what we assess in each prize category.

Competition criteria – Best idea

  • To be eligible, you must:

    – Live, study, or run your business in Jönköping County
    – Have an idea that you have not presented to Science Park during the past five months

  • Entries will be judged on:

    – How innovative your idea is
    – The value it creates
    – How unique it is
    – Its growth potential
    – How sustainable it is

    Only complete applications submitted through the official digital form during the competition period will be considered. We reserve the right to disqualify entries without prior notice if they are deemed unlawful, offensive, unethical, in breach of our policies, or suspected of fraud. Such decisions, as well as all other decisions in the competition, are final and cannot be appealed.

  • The competition is organized by Science Park Jönköping AB.

  • Applications can only be submitted via this page between 8 September and 20 October 2025. Winners will be announced on 15 December 2025.

  • By entering, you confirm that your application is accurate and that you hold the copyright and any other rights related to your entry. You agree to indemnify Science Park Jönköping AB against any claims connected to your entry. Science Park Jönköping AB cannot be held responsible for any losses or damages resulting from participation in the competition.

  • The winner will receive up to SEK 10,000 in development funding* and a place in Science Park’s coworking environment.

    The funding must be used for activities that clearly move the idea forward and validate the business concept.

    *“Development funding” means the money is earmarked for further developing your idea. The prize money is sponsored by the Growth Foundation (Tillväxtstiftelsen i Jönköpings län) and Jönköping Energi

    Science Park Jönköping AB reserves the right not to select a winner if no entry meets the required quality standard.

  • As a winner, you grant Science Park Jönköping AB and any competition partners the right to publish your name, company, and a description of your idea – along with photos – in communication and marketing activities, with no time limitation. The material will be prepared in consultation with you and will not disclose trade secrets. No financial compensation will be provided for such use.

  • When you enter the competition, Science Park collects and processes personal data such as your name and email address. By entering, you are also signing up for our newsletter.

Competition criteria – Best innovation

  • To be eligible, you must:

    – Live or run your business in Jönköping County
    – Be at least 18 years old
    – Have started, or be in the process of starting, a limited company (no older than five years)

    The competition is open to anyone who has already registered a limited company, or who will have done so by the time they enter the incubator. To participate, the company must be no more than five years old, you must be at least 18 years old, reside in Sweden, and the company must be eligible to receive state aid under Article 22 of the GBER.

  • Entries will be judged on:

    – Level of innovation and uniqueness of the idea
    – International potential
    – Contribution to the UN’s 2030 Agenda
    – Ability to execute and scale the idea

    Your business idea should be a product or service with commercial potential that is either completely new or significantly better than what already exists on the market. It must be innovative and contribute to one or more of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, or provide a clear solution to a societal challenge.

    The founder or team must demonstrate the capacity to move the idea forward. During the incubation period, the team must be able to dedicate the equivalent of at least 75% of a full-time role to the project.

    Only complete applications submitted through the official digital form during the competition period will be considered. We reserve the right to disqualify entries without prior notice if they are deemed unlawful, offensive, unethical, in breach of our policies, or suspected of fraud. Such decisions, as well as all other decisions in the competition, are final and cannot be appealed.

  • The winner will receive up to SEK 50,000 in development funding*, a place in Science Park’s incubator, and office space in Science Park’s coworking environment.

    Joining the incubator means access to a dedicated business developer, external expert knowledge, and strategic support on how to finance your company.

    *“Development funding” means the money is earmarked for further developing your idea. Science Park covers costs such as external services. No direct cash prize will be paid out to the company.

    The funding must be used for activities that clearly move the company forward and validate the business idea. Decisions on how the funds are used will be made in consultation with Science Park Jönköping’s business developers.

    Science Park Jönköping AB reserves the right not to select a winner if no entry meets the quality required for admission to the incubator program.

  • As a winner, you grant Science Park Jönköping AB and its competition partners the right to publish your name, company, and a description of your idea – along with photos – in communication and marketing activities, with no time limitation.
