Idea and Innovation Competition – win up to SEK 100,000

The competition ran from September 23 to October 29 and is now closed.

Do you have an idea that solves a problem or addresses a societal challenge? Now you can join this fall’s idea and innovation competition, where you have the chance to win up to 100,000 SEK to turn your solution into reality.

When you win – everyone wins

At Science Park, we firmly believe in people’s desire to contribute to a sustainable society, and we trust in the power of innovation to solve societal challenges – big and small, local and global. Together with you, we want to be a driving force in creating a better world – benefiting both people and the planet.

Some problem solvers change the world. Others make daily life just a bit easier.

What types of ideas and innovations can compete?

All ideas and types of innovations are welcome, but we are especially looking for entries in the following areas:

  • Good Health and Well-being – Good health is a fundamental prerequisite for people to reach their full potential and contribute to the development of society. People’s health is influenced by economic, ecological, and social factors and encompasses all dimensions and people of all ages.
  • Sustainable Consumption & Production – Sustainable consumption not only brings environmental benefits but also social and economic advantages such as increased competitiveness, growth in both local and global markets, higher employment, improved health, and reduced poverty. Transitioning to sustainable and circular consumption and production of goods is essential to reducing our negative impact on the climate, environment, and human health.
  • Innovative Solutions – Ideas that offer unique customer value, significantly different from other alternatives in the targeted market, and that can thereby gain competitive advantages and a head start.

To be eligible to compete, you must live, study, or work in the Jönköping County area.

Prize Categories

Among the competing entries, we will select winners in two categories:

  • Best Business Idea
  • Best Innovation

The common factor is that you have identified a problem that you want to – and maybe even CAN – solve.

Competition Period

You can submit your entry between September 23 and October 29. Winners will be announced on December 12, 2024.

Here’s what you can win in each category:

Prize Category: "Best Innovation"

Have you started working on your solution and decided to commit to building a business?

This competition is for those who want to develop a product or service with significant commercial and international potential. Your solution should be innovative, and it must either contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals or clearly address a societal challenge. It doesn’t have to be a completely new solution; it could also be a significantly improved version of something already on the market.

Joining our incubator means you will get your own business developer, access to external expert knowledge, and strategic support on how to fund your business.

Prize: Up to 100,000 SEK in “development funds”*, a spot in Science Park’s incubator, and office space in Science Park’s coworking area.

*“Development funds” means the money is intended to further develop your idea.

The competition ran from September 23 to October 29 and is now closed.

Prize Category: "Best Idea"

Maybe you’ve been pondering the problem for a long time, or you woke up last night with a stroke of genius that still feels like a great idea in the daylight. Do you have a solution for how we can repair and upgrade our electronic products to extend their lifespan? Or have you come up with a revolutionary subscription service for medications to ensure access for patients with chronic illnesses? In theory, at least. This competition is for those who are still in the idea stage but want to explore the possibility of making it a reality.

Prize: 10,000 SEK in “development funds”*, individual coaching, and a spot in Science Park’s coworking space.

*“Development funds” means the money is intended to further develop your idea.

The competition ran from September 23 to October 29 and is now closed.
