Accessibility Statement for sciencepark.se

Science Park Jönköping is responsible for the website sciencepark.se. We want as many people as possible to be able to use the website, regardless of disability. This statement describes how sciencepark.se complies with the Swedish Act on the Accessibility of Digital Public Services, which accessibility issues are known, and how you can report problems.

How accessible is the website?

This website is partially compliant with the Swedish Act on the Accessibility of Digital Public Services. This means that some parts of the content are not yet fully accessible.

An external accessibility review was carried out by Knowit Experience in autumn 2024. The review was based on WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA.

Content that is not accessible

Below is a summary of the most significant accessibility issues that have been identified.

Perceivable content issues

  • Some images and videos are missing appropriate text alternatives (alt text).

  • Pre-recorded videos in some cases lack captions and audio description.

  • Text placed on top of images or video sometimes has insufficient contrast.

Operability issues

  • Not all functionality is fully accessible via keyboard, such as parts of the navigation menu, the search function, and certain interactive modules.

  • Focus indicators (visual markers showing where the user is when navigating with a keyboard) are sometimes unclear or missing.

  • It is not always possible to pause, stop, or hide moving content, such as the hero video on the homepage.

Understandability issues

  • English words and phrases on otherwise Swedish pages are not always correctly marked up with language attributes in the code.

  • Error messages in forms are sometimes unclear or not descriptive enough.

  • Some forms do not clearly indicate which fields are mandatory.

Robustness issues

  • Some components do not provide correct information about name, role, and status to assistive technologies such as screen readers.

  • Status messages, for example after performing a search, are not always announced to screen reader users.

What are we doing to improve accessibility?

We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of the website. Priority measures include:

  • improved keyboard navigation and focus indicators

  • clearer structure in headings and forms

  • improved contrast

  • captions and audio description for video content

  • correct language markup in the code

  • improved information for assistive technologies

Accessibility is an integrated part of our ongoing website development.
