Hackathon – The Quest
Let’s hack Jönköping – as a city and as a region, but also its companies and inhabitants.
Every year, 50,000 people visit the world’s largest digital festival at Elmia in Jönköping – DreamHack. The fact that all these people are hanging out in Jönköping is of course amazing! But we would like to see more of the visitors take benefit in everything else that our awesome region has to offer, outside of Elmia.
Don’t be a camper!
Join the quest and help us find out how we can get the DreamHack visitors to experience the entire region of Jönköping. What activities can we create, during, before and after the festival? How can we help the visitors get in touch with the region’s companies and residents? And the big quest(ion): how can we, in the long run, attract young tech talent to work and live in Jönköping County?
Pre-hack @ DreamHack Winter – December 1, 2018
The Quest starts during DreamHack Winter 2018 and is more about popping good ideas than it is about hacking code. With inspiration from DreamHack and Digital Dreams, you (or you and your team) will come up with as many ideas as possible to hack Jönköping.
The hack will last for ten hours, between 11 am and 9 pm on Saturday, December 1, 2018. There is no fee to attend, and all participants receive a day pass for DreamHack Winter. Our partner Tross will provide you with lunch and dinner during the event.
At the end of the day, the best idea or innovation will win a prize, also sponsored by Tross. Additionally, the winner(s) will be given the opportunity to take the idea into a more active business development with the help of Science Park.
- Idea generation
- Free time at DreamHack
- Packaging of ideas
- Pitch Training
- Pitch in front of a jury

Main hack @ DreamHack Summer (optional)
After DreamHack Winter, you can choose to continue working on your idea. If you do we will support you along the way. In the spring of 2019, we start the main hack where the ideas are realized and then implemented during DreamHack Summer.
Who can attend?
The Quest is mainly for students, but everyone can join and anyone can sign up. It is possible to participate as a team or individually. We welcome your application regardless of gender, gender expressions, functioning conditions, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, origin or background.
The hackathon is fully booked and the registration has been closed. Please email Linda Pålsson at email@example.com to sign up to the waiting list.
The Quest is hosted by Digital Dreams, which is part of the Transform to AAA project, in collaboration with Tross and StartUp Jönköping.
Transform to AAA is a collaboration between Science Park, Jönköping University and ten corporate co-financiers. The project is funded by the Region of Jönköping and the European Regional Development Fund.
